Family can be messy, unpredictable, and in constant change. Individual family members may experience growth and change, challenges and obstacles that can often collide with the individual needs of one family member or another. Oftentimes, a family may lose touch with one another while keeping up with their busy lives and outside obligations. This can cause a family strain. In addition, families house an array of expectations and preconceived notions about how things "should be", which often can create misunderstandings and distancing between family members. Individual family members are sometimes confused about their role in the family which can lead to conflict. In an atmosphere of respect for each individual in your unique and beautiful family, we can work together toward healing and growth. Family Therapy provides support for traditional, single, and blended families.
"Sometimes communication is hardest in our own family because families share similar suffering and ways of responding to suffering. The suffering of your parents was passed down from their parents and from their ancestors before them. Unless you begin to understand your own suffering and reconcile with yourself, that suffering will continue to be passed down to future generations. So we do the work of mindful communication not just for ourselves and our loved ones but for future descendants." Thich Nhat Hanh
